Eiley and Alexa

I’m very excited to share that we became parents yesterday. At 5:02 pm Alexa delivered a beautiful baby girl into the world. Her name is Eiley (pronounced eye-lee) Grace. She is 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 20 inches long. She currently has dark brown hair that goes every which way like mine and beautiful blue-gray eyes just like her mother.

Alexa’s water broke around 8:45pm on the 15th. This was shortly after I had said “I’m not that hungry. I don’t think I’m going to eat any dinner.” By 11 pm the contractions had reached the 4-5 minute mark and it was time to go to the hospital.

Mom labored until 5:02 the next evening. By our tired minds’ poor attempt at date-math, that’s somewhere between 20 hours, 17 minutes and a year of labor. Alexa is in every sense small but mighty!

Freshly promoted grandparents on the Koranek and Swiger sides came to visit as soon as they could after delivery. We look forward to having more visitors soon, but please let us know if you’re planning to come by! Thank you for your prayers through our pregnancy and labor. The Lord has been so good to us.
